The following are some examples of Maths:

Using maths skills and knowledge as part of science e.g. measuring distances, capacity, weight, recording and analysing data. Using maths operations; ratio, percentages, averages.

Develop a maths trail around school

Investigating number and symmetry

2nd class were busy investigating number and using a ruler as a line of symmetry. They had to recreate the rest of the picture on the other side of the symmetry line (ruler). They had great fun and it really helped them learn all about symmetry.

Maths week

5th class took part in the maths week challenges posted online. They were quite challenging this year and tested even the strongest of our mathematicians !!

3D shapes in 2nd class

2nd class had great fun creating 3D shapes with toothpicks and marshmallows. They were also allowed to draw on the tables to classify the 3D shapes. They listed all the properties they could think of under each shape. Very clever of them!

2nd class had fun sorting numbers into odds and evens. They did a great job.

Senior Infants had great fun exploring tangrams and geoboards during math stations.
